The Social Distancing Animal Release (Fangsheng)
Saving lives / Releasing Animals / Fangsheng is part of the Dana (giving) Paramita in Buddhism, which gives freedom from fear or provides protection. It is the best gift or the greatest gift, because life is the most cherished and precious thing for all beings.
This activity was held three times in three different places. These activities are held on the beach following health protocols and maintaining distance.
This activity definitely accumulates sonams which are the virtues & causes of happiness in this life and better future birth in the future. This is also the cause which leads one to be free from samsara & attain Buddhahood. When animals are released, we think of other sentient beings as well and dedicate them for their welfare. This compassionate act brings tremendous benefits to animals & those who released them.
