Fourth Year Butterlamps Offering.
Butterlamps in India & Tibet 2020 have been offered!
In India, butterlamps offered in two places ; The stupa at Bodhgaya Mahabodhi, the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment. Apart from butterlamps offering, robes, food and flowers were also offered there. At the Kagyu Monlam Asia 2020 event at Bokar Monastery, Mirik – India, the butterlamps and offering were also offered.
In Tibet, the journey started from Lhasa. Butterlamps are offered at various holy places such as the Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace, Tsurphu Monastery, Samye Monastery, Sakya Monastery, Drepung Monastery and Gaden Monastery. In Jokhang Temple, gold is also offered to the face of the Buddha there. At the Potala Palace, butterlamps are also offered in front of 1000 self arise Buddhas images. Apart from lamps offering, the Sangha also recites aspiration prayers and dedicated to all sponsors.
