This is a very effective practice to purify karma and its environment. It is also effective in paying karmic debts, purifying obscurations and increasing luck, harmony and peace. This is also an excellent method of accumulating merits and engaging oneself in Bodhisattva actions. During this practice, the smokes of incense and other substances are mentally transformed into a vast and selected offerings. It is endowed through the power of meditation and offered to the enlightened beings as sign of refuge and dedicated to all sentient beings in samsara as an act of compassion.
