Dzambhala is a Bodhisattva of material & spiritual wealth and many other things. By the way, “Dzam” means Deity or collection, “Bhah” means gold or wealth, and “La” means respect. So therefore, Dzambhala means the noble gold Deity, which accumulates or brings spiritual or Dharma wealth and material security or prosperity in our lives.
Its golden skin symbolizes increase and growth. He holds a mongoose in his left hand which spits out a wish-fulfilling gem. In the short term, Dzambala can bring us material wealth and help us get out of poverty. But more importantly, the practice can also bring us spiritual wealth and personal growth, helping us to get rid of the confusion that is the karmic cause of poverty. Dzambhala has the power to free sentient beings from poverty, hunger, and guide them to Buddhahood. Dzambala holds a fruit in his right hand to signify that if we do his practice, our efforts can bear fruit for spiritual attainment and ultimately, Enlightenment.
